This was a 2-hour speed-paint for D&D, nothing special. Just wanted to get him done and decent-looking.

2 hours, SERIOUSLY!
I just spent a whole Saturday pumping our Korbolas mini speed paints no where near as detailed as this and the fasted I achieved was 2 hours.
You amaze me, my friend. :)
“out” not “our”
I need to learn to read a post before posting.
Thanks!
I think part of it might be how you approach the task. You base coat dark, then highlight up, right? That takes a lot of coats of paint. When I speed-paint, I always base coat with the highest highlight, then shade down with just a few thin layers. And Reaper Brown Liner is your friend!!! Give that a try next time, and see if it works out for you.
I’m actually trying a new technique Derek showed me, similar to what you suggest. I do think I will get faster with familiarity, but it feels alien to me now.
OK, well, good luck, then!
