This has got to be one of the most frustrating minis I’ve ever painted. After the red, which I thought went well, nothing else seems to be going right. My blends are all rough, I can’t get the colors right, and I just want to throw the thing through my kitchen window. Now that I’ve started the tartan, I don’t even have the nice red to look at anymore. My lines are all crooked, and there’s no way to fix them now.
I don’t know if it’s the scale, or the realism required for an historical model, or something else. But for some reason, this figure is just not working for me.
I’ll be very glad when this project is done!
The one and only part I’m actually happy with is the eyes, which I’ve painted a dark blue. You really can’t see them unless you look REALLY close, though, because they are so tiny.
Been there. That is how I felt the entire time I painted Nienna. I absolutely hated that mini by the time I was done with her. Now I’m liking her again. Hang in there.

Yeah, I’ll just have to tough it out. Fortunately, Shanerozzel, over on WAMP, gave me some good advice, which I’ll try to apply once I take up the brush again.
Right now I’m teaching myself php. :o)
I guess this is one of those “suck it up” and get on with it moments. OR you could start another mini and go back to this one when you don’t hate it anymore :O)
OR I could teach myself a new programming language instead! Hahaha!
